Cool. Is the haft end flattened?... looks like the axe may have been used as a splitting wedge, chisel, etc.
 

Nice axe. I love trade goods. Important part of the history. I have one from around Chattanooga. Yours is much better.
 

Just the way it looked just out of the ground, its iron though.
 

How does it look cleaned up..any makers mark on it?
 

Here are the other items from where the Trade Ax came from. Heart silver ring, gun flint and a lead bead made from a musket ball.

It does look like it has markings on it. This year I will return to hunt it again and also do electrolysis on the ax
 

Id soak that axe to get the rust out so you can see the marking if any. Nice ring!
