Trade Brass Bead?

I found this in my 1830's native trade site, I thought I had it identified it as a trade rifle vent liner but after closer research its definitely not that. back to my best guess being a brass bead but I'm not sure those were even made. its probably a quarter inch or less in diameter. anybody have a better id?

Looks like it could be a gun part. Maybe inletted into the stock so a screw had something to seat against. Just a guess. Gary

It’s a possibility. To build on that, is there anywhere on a Kentucky long rifle or northwest trade gun that would require a spacer

I have found 4 of these so far..... I’ve always thought they were trade era. Indians were mining and smelting a few types of metal.

Mine came out of a very clean trade era site, only modern things are shell casings and a few .22 slugs. I’m pretty confident in that, it’s interesting you have 4. That suggests it was a fairly common item what ever it was

I have never found more than one in the same place. 2 in the country and 2 in town, homes from well after trade. But the country sites date to the end of trade. I’m not 100% on them. They could just be a common washer/spacer from the 19th century. Mine all have small grooves , almost like a threading, but not quite, all down the middle of the hole. Punch marks? One of them has a more square hole. They are all the same thickness and diameter with slight variations in the circular shape.
