Got out to a small local park for a couple hour hunt since it was such a nice day. Sunny with light wind and in the 50's made for a good day. I don't think we are going to have many days like this one left before the white stuff starts to fall.

The ring I believe is brass as it has that goldish color and rang up in the silver area on the E-Trac. Pulled my share of trash as you can see and was able to pull a 1943 Merc. and a 1920's Wheatie. Finally got the silver to pop through after a long drought.

Thanks for looking and HH

I Love, love, love that ring!!! What a fun, kicky find!

Sheewoooh...there's still hope for silver in Hoosier ground...thanks for the ray 'o hope, a shrewd of possibility...a reason to go forth and dig in the less than fertile Indiana dirt!

No matter....nice Hunt :icon_thumright:

Yeah the ring is unique. I hit it lightly with a brass brush and it looks to be gold plated over something. No marks on the inside and it looks like it was repaired at one time as there is a solder mark on the back. Probably a high dollar junk ring at one time. The gold gods are messing with me still.

Nice digs a ring is a ring. My last 4 rings has not ben gold or silver but I still like finging rings. Congs on the Merc.....Matt

Nice hunt. Glad to see even the etrack finds some pull tabs. I was getting worried that's all my Safari will pick up! Are you srue that isn't a diamond and two rubies? Just funning with you. Monty

Nice finds DJH. I see you are using the magnificant etrac. How long have you been using it? TMAN...
Hey Tman,
I've been swinging this thing since before the snow melted. Got it back in February from Larry at NWI. Great person to deal with and goes out of his way to help a person out.

Hey Monty,
Yes, even the E-Trac will hit pull tabs. Being there wasn't much trash in this section of the park, I chose to hit some very stable and solid numbers. Usually the pulltabs comes in around the Nickle range and bounce a bit, but these that are in the photo were solid hits away from the normal numbers.
I actually was thinking that they could have been Garnets or Rubies, but once I seen them through the loupe, you could see the clarity was just to good. Most likely glass and the diamond had that foggy look to it, so that was a give away of just how expensive the ring really was. Still an old ring and probably one of the neatest ones I have found.

Hey WingMaster.
How's it going in your neck of the woods? Mercs. and Seated are two of the nicest looking coins out there. They just have that noble look to them.

Thanks MLay,
Yeah you're right, a ring is a ring no matter how you look at it. Funny how someone could lose something and not realize it is missing off their finger. Not like reaching into ones pocket and losing change.
