Trash pit digging

Went trash pit digging for the first time today. My cousin went door knocking and got permission to do a yard in Belvidere. We dug some old bottles, wasn't a great dig but we didn't get skunked. I would do this type of treasure hunting again.

My cousin says he has used a sifter. I had my metal detector with and found a mantel clock inerds, some zinc lids

A sifter will ensure that buttons,marbles and other small stuff end up on your tailgate and not back in the hole.
