TreasureTales' Travelogue - Day 1, con't - California

Tuesday was a scorching 100 degrees through the Sacramento Valley. Once in the Sierras, though, the weather was much more pleasant. Then to make things even cooler there was this little cabin perched on top of a boulder on the bank of the Yuba River along I-80.

Thanks you guys. The cabin almost looks like it washed downstream and landed on top of the boulder.

Apparently there was a time when people in the Sierras built cabins on boulders. In Alpine County (CA) there are several other examples of boulder cabins, but on lakeshores. They should probably be documented before they all disappear - another oldtime practice headed for the history heap.
