Trip #4 back to the old beach

Went back to the old beach that my son and I have been hunting,when we got there they were building a new retaining wall and had scaped off about 4 or 5 inches of sand and clay.Well it was not my day-no jewelary for me,my son got 2 more gold rings a gold braclet and a silver toe ring.we were dodging backhoes and scrapers,bad part is that all the dirt they were removing was going to be hauled off.So far this makes 38 rings off this beach in4 weeks.

It's not sand it is clay,hoping they will spread it back on the beach after they build the retaining wall,going back tomorrow to try again.

I am between Longview and Gilmer in East Texas,If the weather is OK I will go back Sunday,my son has gone relic hunting this weekend.

Well they built a 8 foot retaining wall and used the dirt off the beach to backfill,so that dirt is gone forever,haven't been back,clay on beach is to wet to walk.

What an Awesome beach to be able to detect! Sure would like to see pic's of the find's. I would definitely locate where they hauled the sand to and hunt it as well. H.H.:-)
