Judging by the mountain in the distance, my guess
is Colorado.

Fossis................

That's a toughie....the white building in the background could be a grain elevator....and I see also hills/mountains. It could be any of the three, but I'm going with Colorado.

hmm...
when in doubt, pick c
colorado!

everyones picking Colorado and Oklahoma...so I say Kansas

Well lets do a little deductive reasoning here. This picture is dated the 19th. Your Colorado Blackhawk/Clear Creek photo is dated the 20th which is your second day. So my guess is either Kansas or Oklahoma.

So I will go with Kansas.

A photoshop of all three???

That is a photo of Mt. Shermanville.
Lake Toedeep is just to the east,
and the town dump is just to the west.

Hope you had a good trip.

Did you get to visit Moxley's Greasy Spoon
Ice Cream Parlor along the highway? Hope
you tried the fried sardines with honey biscuits.

LOL

Wasn't able to enjoy their cuisine as apparently the spoon was so greasy that it squirted out of a customer's hand and broke out the front window. ;D

You're going to post more from the trip... right?

Gold, I want to see gold :)

OK, for all those who guessed....the location is a few miles west of this sign.

I should have recognized that place, I passed right by there about 12 years ago. :D ;D
