Just recently quit my job of 3 years working midnights, Which I never really got the chance to get out... ever, so im trying to enjoy some free time while i can for a little bit.

Trying to pick the hobby back up after so long, the clad coins kinda peaked my interest 41¢... got kinda a little annoying finding so many clad coins so quickly... i cant find my Harbor Freight pinpointer :(

Detecting at my Moms house (old house). once found newspaper which was being used as insulation in the attic with a date of 1899 to give you a rough idea of age

first found the wheats then the a little while later the Mercury... and as i had read in another post, if your finding wheats theres gonna be silver nearby!

Found a Mercury Head, Mason's Necklace thingy, 2 Wheats & a toy gun which was actually made in USA!!

You're doing great

Love the Masons piece!

Hey Donny,

Great to see you are doing some detecting again! I know there has to be more silver and likely some Indian Heads there around your mom's house. Grid the lawn real slow listening for those deeper signals. Keep at it!

Great Finds! Can't wait to see what else you find there! :icon_thumright:

I actually found the Masons piece in a area I removed a mulberry tree stump which was roughly 1 & 1/2 foot in diameter earlier this year. tore the ground up about 4' down and rototilled a patch ~15-22' smoothing out the ground. actually this is the area ive been finding lots and lots of clad coins.

as for the Merc & the pistol.. I stumbled across that in a area we trenched about 5-6' deep for a new water supply line into the house, lots of dirt was stirred up there. the coin was found where we piled up the dirt roughly 7' away from a old carriage step alongside the sidewalk.

as for gridding the lawn, i kinda hopped from one spot to another.. depending on how much sun was hitting my back. after i found the Merc i actually detected a 2' strip along the sidewalk but came up with the other wheat. just before dark i gridded one section of the yard along the road, found a Jagermeister bottle, pepsi top & a quarter.
now i gotta figure out how that larger coil works to get down deeper.

Great finds ,Really like the Masonic emblem.................HH

great finds. welcome back to the hobby

Welcome back to detecting..nice restart...love the toy gun....Shorty

Nice scores, WB to the game!

I just remembered and dont know if it relates or not, but the next door neighbor owns a house which used to be owned by a Doctor... its the largest house in the neighborhood & the property consumes most of the block at this point in time. were not entirely sure because we've not seen any maps confirming this yet, but we suspect the house lot used to own the whole block before being divided into several small lots. Maybe this Doctor could have been a Mason? i did find the piece roughly 110' from the doctors house. :dontknow:

Found a Tootsietoy roadster #2 today just on the opposite side of the sidewalk where the gun came from. Just one clad penny &lots of trash in the 3 or 4 hours I got out... messing around with my settings getting used to the Ace 250 still.
