......so there I am, knee deep in the water, when I see this gold coin in my scoop as I'm raising it to the surface! Honest, I think my entire body instantly locked up all at once when I first saw it, brain cells racing from here and there trying to hit all the reset buttons. :laughing7:

Talk about the perfect prank! I gotta tell you, been years since anything in my scoop set me back like that. But of course, on the other side it says, "No Cash Value". I don't know who did it but you gotta love their sense of humor! :laughing7:

This came up in my scoop on the West Coast, size of a silver dollar...I didn't get mad, I was just glad my heart started beating again. IMG_0439.webp

Bigscoop, I did a good prank on a lady that I use to bring detecting with me and let her use one of my detectors when I lived in Tallahassee. One trip metal detecting, we had been to a few places down at St. George Island S.W. of Tallahassee. So on the beach she wandered a short distance from me. Ahhhhh here's my opportunity now. It was in low tide and I dug a hole at the the base of a cut about a foot or so. I yelled at Tanya to come here over and over. She slowly walked toward me but picked up her speed from a casual walk back to me to a fast walk as I showed excitement in my yelling to her.....and my arms just a movin. When she got there, I pointed to the hole and she looked. She bent over closer to get a better view and then gasped! There in the hole was a round gold coin.... She picked it up and was practically screaming as loud as she could with excitement! She just knew that her friend (me) found a old gold coin worth "money". We jumped and hugged each other and I was babbling all this stuff about finely finding my first "pirate booty". All of this babbling on and on about what ship it was on.... was it on a pirate ship.... was it this or that..... I could practically see these visions dancing in her head! After a few minutes I said....so Tanya, do you think it's a good find? And she said, oh god, you did it, you did it!!!! Then I said, "yeah, it would be great if it was a real gold coin". She looked at me funny, and I cracked up laughing and couldn't stop! Then she caught on and asked if it was real? That's when I told her it was a free gift from Kellyco for a order I placed, and I planted it! We both laughed and laughed. She called me a few choice words......but it they were delivered with love! A day I'll never forget.... and apparently she won't either because she often reminds me of that incident when we talk on the phone! Good friends equals good pranks!

That's funny, and I agree - pranks between good friends are always special. My long time friend and hunting partner back in Indiana, Mike, we use to pull pranks on each other all the time. I really miss him - good guy, great attitude, and loads of fun. I keep hoping to get back up there so we can take off on another adventure but it always seems something gets in the way. Hopefully that will change soon.

found a few foreign ones around there that had me going... was gonna hit it this weekend, but have a lift so I can trim my palm trees instead...
