Turtles, I'm Interested

I'm looking for some good ways to cook turtles. I had turtle stew when I was 6 years old and remember it being good but haven't had it since. I live in Alabama and we have turtles everywhere. I was driving down the highway just the other day and had to swerve to miss a snapper the size of my tire. I've read posts here on T-Net about people eating turtle and loving it. I have a bass pond in my back yard that is full of them and have been thinking I need to try it. Help me out here, are all turtles good to eat or is it only the snappers?

Thanks for that link bbq. I will check it out more when I got some time. Looks like they got a Lotta ways to cook turtle. I've been looking on the net, but like every thing else, there's a lot of controversy about the different ways to clean and cook them. I'd like to see some good recipes that you guys have tried.
