Tried one of the new big cornfields I've gained permission to recently. Nothing on the old maps to suggest it had a homesite or anything, but it is tucked away and runs near a river that connects a couple of towns founded in the 1760s, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I walked along the circumference and detected for about an hour, finding just a handful of signals (3 of which were cans), was about to give up, then dug up the bat mobile!
Well, i figured the day was a wash, but decided to finish a half circle and kept walking the edge...then zing! A solid 12-41 on my new etrac. Out comes a beautiful George II halfpence that ended up cleaning very nicely. Fanning out from there, about 90 min later I found another copper, far more worn *edit: may be a counterfeit KGIII*
I just love the definition on the 1735...my best condition Brit copper yet. Thanks batman!
