Actually 3 firsts for me. I finally had a chance to go to this one location that I have been dreaming of hitting for a while. After just finding a few modern pennies, and with the thought that someone else had already searched here, I finally got a signal, coin size at 5 inches. I carefully dug down, past experience I put a scratch on a beautiful Mercury dime digging too quickly. One of the my firsts was two wheat pennies stuck together (1940 & 1942).I have found wheats before but never stuck together. I scanned the area again and not even one foot away another signal at 5 inches. Again, carefully, I dug down and my second first a Buffalo Nickel. This is also my third firsts, my oldest coin to date, 1936. I was running out of time. My wife wanted my home by 9 am. On the way out I kept hitting signals of the more modern stuff. I ended up also with a $1.15 in clad and a piece of junk jewelry. There were several signals I didn't dig for lack of time, tomorrow I am heading back......I hope.

Thank you all of you. I am learning a lot on this site from everybody.

I was using the GTi 2500 today and keep hitting items that cause a cone effect. I know the display is just to give one a maybe idea of what is down there. The only problem with it, and seems like with other machines, is that it is not consistent. I have dug so many pennies that were supposedly dimes and visa a versa. I know it saves a lot of time from digging junk but some of these junk items turn out to be good targets. Also, everything seems to be 6 inches or under, anything over 6 inches is always the largest size on the graphical display (or the cone effect). I know one can find fault in all machines so please don't think I am bashing mine.

Good luck everybody with your finds this weekend.
