Well I was able to get out to one of my favorite parks yesterday and went straight to the area that aways produces coins from 1920s-1940s. I hardly ever find any modern coins in this area. After two hours with the DFX here is what I found minus the junk. I dig all the junk signals in this area since it is close to home and I hit it quite often.
All the keepers:
Navy button - eagle on an anchor with three cannon balls underneath the anchor. Two piece button but the back was completely rotted away.
Coins included - 1929 D Mercury Dime, 1937 Buffalo Nickel and a 1943 P war nickel
Key - front reads: Independent Lock Co. 1022 Fitchburg Mass USA Back reads: Perth Amboy Locksmith Co. 77 Smith St.
And some broken up pieces of costume jewelery (I wish these stones were real)
With tomorrow being New Years Eve I don't think I will be able to get out so I'm done for 2007. Heading down to the Outer Banks NC on 1/1 for a little beach hunting. These two silvers brings my final silver count to a whoping 13. I had a better 2006 for silver but I'm sure 2008 will be better.
Happy New Years and best of luck in 2008.
