I found these two brass mystery items yesterday evening in central Indiana. Really interested in what they might be. The first is a strange little wheel-shaped thing that looks like it has a dark blue/black, flat piece of glass/stone in the center. It looks to be two pieces with a bent shank on the back, as if it was some kind of cuff link. The second item is also two pieces, but it looks like the back piece has broken off of something else. Reminds me of some kind of thin strap buckle or something along those lines. Any help is much appreciated!

First item is a round button. The second is a woman's shoulder strap buckle for a dress or apron. I've found them before.
I first thought the decorative item was a sash buckle, but mudwhale's theory is interesting.
