Two nails tried to keep me from an 1881 Indian head, but the F75 wouldn't let them!

Went out for about an hour after work today to a spot in Winchester. I headed for the woods to an area where I found my 1749 KG II a couple months ago. The weeds were bad then, but I thought they would have died down by now. NOPE! They were over 6 feet tall now. Luckily there was a clearing of dead grass so I made my way to that. I worked the area extremely slow and got a bouncy signal, but I heard a good tone in there so I was diggin'! I dig the hole, pop the plug back and pinpoint the target with my pro-pointer and it's a coin. First thought of course is a modern penny dropped by a hunter. Wrong again, I do a little gentle rubbing and reveal that lovely Indian head dress! I scanned the hole again and found that there were 2 nails in there trying to mask my poor little Indian head! They tried, but failed. lol I searched the area some more and found my third thimble for the year, first one that wasn't smashed though. And it's tiny, too! Found part of the handle to a spoon or fork as well in that area. Once all of those weeds and underbrush die out I plan on hitting that area hard!

Thanks for looking and happy hunting. Dig those iffy signals!

Congrats on the indian! All i was diging yesterday was the iffy signals but between the mosquitos and not having my pro pin pointer i left out of there early. I did manage to dig a nice pocket watch. Congrats again.

Nice thimble. Needs a cleaning.

Congrats... gotta be persistent! Mosquitoes and dry dirt have made for a difficult summer.

I find the F-75 to be EXCELLENT at digging up old pennies.

Nice indian! I like the thimble too!

Thanks. The thimble is small...doesn't even fit on my pinkie finger.
