My last two nickel boxes have produced some nice coins. I only keep 1949 and earlier in general.

1.) 13 1940s, a no date buffalo and a 1975 50 pfennig German coin.
2. ) 15 1940s, a no date buffalo and 4 wartime era silver nickels (1942 P, 2 1944 P, 1945 P)

Here's a pic (for the doubters out there... you know who you are):

Nice! 4 War nickels in 2 boxes is great. It is always fun to find Buffalo nickels as well.

I'm really horrible at picking out a type 2 buffalo....but It looks like the one on the right might be?
Another member could tell you more confidently.

you struck silver with that 2nd box. :icon_thumright:

I found a German 1950 G 50 Pfennig Bundesrepublik Deutschland coin (& a '50 no D Jeff & 2 silver) in my last nickel box last weekend.

I've still got 2 nickel boxes for this weekend that I'm just about to get started on - I hope I can find some more silver myself. :)

Those are fine boxes. Good haul. Way above my average.

Thanks all.

Yeah, I don't think either of the no dates are a type I - both look like type IIs... I love finding buffs, just wish I could read the date. Don't want to use acid though.

I average about 2 war nicks per box. Maybe some day I'll pull a V nickel :)

I'm always eager to know the dates of my no-date buffaloes also. I've been using vinegar lately and although it does leave a flat dull finish to the nics, it really brings out the dates rather well. My last two no-dates that I've soaked were 1918 & 1914.

I'm just gettin' started on my 1st nickel box of the weekend - maybe I can find a few more buffs and some silver :)
