Two Strange Finds

Hello Forum,

I found two strange items yesterday. The first I thought was an iron, but when I started searching images for vintage Irons I could not find one that looked like this. Then I thought maybe a light fixture? The second item I'm not sure about this either. There used to be a gunpowder mill at this site. Could this be an item used to mill the gun powder?

Maybe a base to an electric fan? I can't find any pictures to confirm this idea.

Charlie I think the second item is the little piece.3 items in each pic penny, large object and small object.

Could the little piece be the knob for changing speeds on the large piece or is it a solid piece I can't tell from picture can you get a larger pic of small item.

Sorry folks. The small cylindrical item was found far away from the larger item with six speeds. I doubt that they go together.

It's a foot valve for a shallow well pump. Scratch that, I didn't see the switch ! Fan base. My bad.

No. But it could have been used to watch "Gunsmoke".
