I read in some XP promo material they will be locked at Tx2 for all frequencies.

i am more ambivalent about it. As I posted to you in the "Update" thread. TX is a double edged sword and I am not surprised they locked it based on the huge frequency range the new coils operate at.

BTW in that looong update thread, Laidback4sure just posted a link to a great writeup from an Austrailan Deus blogger who took v. 4 for a test drive (with a legacy 9" coil) and he had some interesting results on iron, IOW, it was harder for round iron to "hide" with false high tones. You should check it out.
