Types of maps to look for

Hello, I'm new to the forums here and I'm wondering if anyone knows about the kinds of maps and maybe even where to find the maps I am interested in. Basically, I'm trying to see historically what was around my family's property between Kingston and Adairsville, Georgia. I know the history going back to about the early 1960's there but before that, I have no idea.
