Hi everyone....I found something I think is unique and interesting while I was detecting in Northwest Ohio. I was finding a lot of iron about 6" - 8" deep in an old city park with my 705 and dug this up. Thinking it was a rolled up can lid, I put it in my garbage pocket and didn't think much more about it. When I got home I noticed the "lid" was copper, had a couple screw holes, and also had some embossing on it. I could make out "eague". Hmmm. So I took it down to my shop and carefully unrolled it. It is a large (3 1/8") stamped plate that says, "U-GO AUTOMOBILE SERVICE LEAGUE INCORPORATED". The only reference I can find to this organization online is an "Official Touring Guide - 1926-1927" with Ohio driving laws and maps published by "The U-Go Automobile Service League" in 1926. Let me know if you know more about this organization or this find. Happy Hunting....Andy

I don't know why nobody's said this yet, but, you did an AMAZING job cleaning that sucker up :headbang: Seriously, you could be a professional restorer IMO  Really nice find. I was sitting here staring at the piece you did such a good job. And talk about interesting. Very, very nice :icon_sunny:

Wow, thanks...blush. It was a little tricky to unfold it; I used my hands and a vise (wrapped it in a towel so it wouldn't get scratched). Then I used a Q-tip and some hydrogen peroxide. Glad you liked it.
