Uncommon CW bullet

I found a Confederate Enfield bullet today and was very excited about it.
If you know the Enfields you know they had no rings and are much less common to find.

Ive done tons of research to find this spot and this is the first CW relic to come out of it. I have found a few horse shoes and other bits that could be CW but no definite on those items. I will keep hittin the spot though.
I found this bullet directly on line with one of the outer defense lines of Atlanta during the CW.

Can anyone tell me how often these Enfields are found?

I hope so.
I agree, there must be something else out there.

I plan to clean the area out of all its other trash that is slowing me down. Taking a big trash bag next time.

I guess it depends on where you're hunting, I've found quite a few here in central Va. One spot had five in about a six foot radius. Great find!

if you find one with the wood plug in the base, leave the wood in it.


they are not common, but they are not uncommon either.

The smooth sided Pritchett bullets are often encountered with numbers or letters in the base cavities, does your have any?

I found about 100 at a nearby forgotten range (which I discovered).

Nice find and save. What kind of trash are you talking about? Square nails, can lids and other trash
might mean a camp site. Maybe even a hut site. May be worth looking for a hut and digging it.
