unidentified mark

I have a 1937 walking liberty half dollar that appears to have a raised "I" above the "in god we trust". It looks like it was put their when it was minted and not a scuff mark. Does anybody know what it is?

Sorry, I don't have a digital camera. The best way I can describe it is it looks like a lieutenants bar locatedabove the "in" between the i and the n. If you were to follow a line from the bottom of the Y in liberty left, it would pretty much hit the center of the I, or 1 or whatever it is.
