Unidentified Roman tool or instrument.

Looks to be part of an iron tubular padlock:

it looks barbed like a fish gig but the large spike wouldn't fit that idea.

Very impressive. No doubt, thats what it is. Looks like mine is in pretty good shape compared to these.

Find these all the time & yes part of a locking mechanism & its my understanding they haven't changed since Roman times. We find them on most Roman Sites.
