That could possibly be an old game tag to harvest an animal....?

I have found about a dozen tags that are similar to yours. In my area, W PA, they are used for coal miners (safety tags) or with the farmers (animal ear tags or bushel/barrel). I would check your areas history to see if there was a mine, maybe between 1850-1925 operating with that name. They would use the tags to make sure all the miners were accounted for at the end of the day.
