unique button

found at a town green that dates back into the 1600's. french soldiers camped out there before joining washintons army to do battle in the revoluntionary war. cool huh?looks like a military button but could it be a boy scout button? cant find it anywhere. help!!!!!!!

Hey Salvet66, Nice find

I looked up the French 85th regiment and there button looks different. But this is what it says about them.
Saintonge Regiment,United States May 2 1780 to June 1783. Raid on Lloyd's Neck, July 1781, Siege of Yorktown, VA Sept to Oct 1781.

Salvet66-- The number is 85 or it might be a button off a piece of childs clothing, if you turn the picture #18 clockwise it looks like two eyes and a smile with a dimple.
