Found this object near an old church/Graveyard that was but in the late 1700s. Any ideas?

Maybe a decorative finial. From a fence post or grave marker?

I agree with my fellow Georgian's here. This could be a broken piece from an old grave marker of some kind. Ornate looking.

Maybe coffin hardware from late 1800s. Much of it was brass.

Any chance a door knocker. if you look by the thumb there are two ears sticking out that could have held the clacker. Just an idea.

Reminiscent of the sheet music clips for band instruments. Hard to say from one view/angle.
