Found this last weekend at an old farm. It's about the size of a quater its concave on the back with an iron loop or tack on the back 20180224_175605.webp20180224_175645.webp20180224_175634.webp thanks for the help
 

It looks like a button with a broken shaft.

It can be either a carpetbag/luggage "foot" or a trunk's skid-disc. The iron spike/nail in the center of its back is how it was attached to the carpetbag's wooden base or the re-enforcing bands on the trunk. I don't have a photo showing the underside of a carpetbag (or similar luggage), but here are some photos showing the low-dome brass "skid-discs" on a trunk/chest. Look at the upper left in the closeup photo of the trunk.
