Apothecary Weight? Seems like I've seen round ones before- I've found 2 square ones- look for funky looking symbols an intertwined circles- sweet find regardless! Snaps

Thanks a lot! Never considered that.

Its a lot thicker and better condition than any other Celtic bronze I found. Seems old or foreign, would love it to be Celtic.

The thickness reminds me of some of the coins of the Roman Republic, however, the republic ended a few hundred years before the Romans got into England. But you never know.

The only option is a Roman Coin like a Dupondius.

This judgement was a quick scan on its thickness which is consistent with the above. However, checking again, its far too small, so it is an odd thing indeed.

It is pretty odd. Stopped cleaning when I noticed some detail, will try and get some more.

Being so small & dumpy (thick), the only Roman Coin that now makes sense is a Provincial.

It may be hard to see, but with further cleaning it seems to have holes/indents that are a black in colour. It almost looks glass or enamel.
