It don't know what it is (pendant, pin, or medallion?) but it isn't a coin. Whatever it is, it's a neat find!

Looks like it's a screaming eagle design! Any school mascots in your area that used the Eagles as their mascot?

originally thought it was some kind of mobil oil design key chain fob, but no. Can you clean it, pull some definition and post a clear pic, assume nothing is on the back?

Maybe a zipper pull or an adornment from a graduation tassel with the school mascot.
