My buddy and I took a newbie to our honey hole a few days ago and wouldn't you know, he found a 1920 peace dollar wrapped in an old newspaper about two inches deep with his Ace 250. My buddy and have been over that area with our machines and missed it. That's what happens when you rush your sweep, so today I had to get out and try to score some silver. I'm glad I did it might not be a peace dollar but I'll take a walker anytime. Here's some of the other treasures I found. One has me stumped and any help ID'ing it would be greatly appreciated. It's some sort of medal. It says "14th Convention" on top and "Denver 1914" on the bottom. I haven't been able to find it on google. Almost forgot, found a Southern Pacific button, a presidential token a vintage silver picture case. Enjoy the pics

Nice finds! Thanks for sharing...

Here's a partial list I found of conventions held in Denver in 1914, published in June of the same year...

"Last year the Convention Association booked 114 conventions, with a total attendance of over 19,000 people; this does not include the Knights Templars, the Turners or the Elks. The following is a list of the balance of the conventions to be held In Denver in 1914, 1915 and 1916:
1914 Conventions
Third National Federal Aid Association, June.
Employes of the U. S. Bureau of Animal Industry, August 10-20.
Convention of Associated Newspapers.
B. P. O. Elks, July 13-18.
State School Teachers' Assn.
Colorado State Jewelers' Assn., July 8-9.
Colorado State Optometrists, July 10-11.
Race Meet, June 13-July 4.
Colorado Annual Conference of the M. E. Church, September.
National Tax Assn., Sept. 8-11.
Southwestern Passenger Agents, July.
Spanish War Veterans, July.
State Democratic Convention, July 30.
State Republican Convention, Aug. 4.
Colorado Editorial Assn., Aug. 1-3."

City of Denver - Google Books

I'm on my phone right now, so not my best research tool, but maybe one of those will lead to the answer... the date doesn't quite fit with a reunion of Spanish War vets, but it's close!

great looking finds
