UNKNOWN MEDALLION

Hey, guys, and girls. I happened to come across this silver medallion. Now I had actually just been reading on this site earlier, a few other's have the same one. While reading, I went over some "KEY" words, leading to "MASONRY" and/ or "FREEMASONRY." Now I have also read that some people on here are Mason'. Now if any Masons could tell me what "MASON" is that would possibly further my research, I have also read that masonry can also be like a black smith I believe?
