It kind of looks like a jerry can (gas can) lid.

Your last photo appears to have cut off part of the makers name marking... I can see "C & Co.", but wonder if there was anything in front of that?

Long 10 cm. Diameter 7 cm. I read "RC & CO 9".
Thanks for your help.

I believe your item is a WWII era engine oil filler cap with a vent tube. Back then, that was how they did crankcase ventilation.

I have a poor picture but can't seem to load it at the moment...
