I am looking for any information on Heywood Wakefield pieces that
are not part of the Modern line. I have a desk that has many Heywood
Wakefield characteristics -- the legs are the same, the construction of
the drawers and sliders is the same, and the finish appears to be an
original champagne (for all I know). There are no markings, though, and
the top is veneered which I did not think was typical.
The design of the desk is a kidney-shaped two-tiered top with
drawers on the left. the drawers sit on short legs like those on the
Modern Kneehole desk and the right side is supported by the larger
curved style leg.
Does anyone have any info on this piece or a good source for info
on Heywood Wakefield imitators?
Thanks in advance.
I could also send some pics to anyone interested in trying to help
figure this out.
