Found at the 1803 house that I have been pounding for a while-have dug more than 40 buttons out of the place as well as some SC coat and cuff buttons.
This button is silver plated and has a nice ornate design to it-what is unusual is that the edges have been crudely clipped as though it had not been finished yet-appears almost hand-made.
Shank is completely broken off and no backmark.
Any thoughts?

The photos posted cropped out the ruler-it is 20mm across.
Thanks Palmetto

Thats why I said maybe, as it looked a little too big :icon_thumright: These shaped 18th C Buttons are actually rarer than the cufflinks, that's why I made the stab
