On 2 separate beaches I found a 1921 Morgan dollar (someones dropped lucky coin perhaps?) and then at my local in the water a 1974 Kennedy half dollar where the hell did THAT come from ???IMG-20141224-00534.webp

That's the joy of this hobby! You could be anywhere when you find something completely unexpected like this! Fantastic! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

yea, that's bizarre.

Major shipping port "Cape town" you have a good chance to find other countries currency too. From guy's laid over and on R&R.

Very nice silver find!

Awesome Kennedy coin! I would hold on to that sucker!

1974 Kennedy halves do not have any silver content.

Worst thing is .. sent my wife an instant msg .. like do they even make 1 dollar coins in the states ? never actually saw the date until I got home ... this is the same pic I sent her on the instant messenger service ..... shows just how green I am lol

A Morgan Dollar is a tough find here in the States , I can only imagine how rare it would be to find that in Cape Town !
