Yesterday I did a little hunting in my back yard to see if I could turn up anything interesting. Over the weekend my fiance was working outside and without even trying and without a MD he found a small silver plated spoon "made in england" was stamped on the back. Anyhow, I was trying to see if I could possibly find any other pieces of the set........ I did not find silver. I found, onions. Yes green onions growing wild in my back yard. At first I thought I hit a grub worm, but when I shoveled it out, it had a green stem..... after examination, and sniffing, it was a small green onion. (fresh)
Makes me a little more relieved that all those "grubs" I hit last week were probably not grubs after all :-)

Its kinds interesting though, since we do not have a garden, and haven't even trien to plant or grow anything in all the years we have been there. (me-4yrs him-6 yrs)

:-)

Depending on where you live, they could be leeks. They grow like crazy here (NW PA.) Not sure how they spread, but they grow like crazy here, don't taste half bad either.

Those little green onions seed out when they get mature. The wind may have blown some seeds your way from someones garden. They multiply very quickly. They are great in salads. ;)

got a lilac bush that starting also, its only 28 today

Smash those into a thin paste and bast them on roast chicken or duck, GREAT.
