So I took my finds to a guy I've known for years. After looking at them (didn't have time to test them) he told me the following. The claddagh ring is silver. 
But, the charm from Alex & Ani was not gold at all. 
I have shown him other jewelry finds from this year. One being a dolphin bracelet that I suspected to be silver. He said it looked like silver to him as well and to try to do the magnet test. I tried with a fridge magnet & it did not stick. But I might need a stronger magnet just to be sure. That concludes this update and I hope you enjoyed reading this. GL & HH!
