found this earlier today. Not sure what it is. The diameter is 1 3/4 in across. The back broke off when I dug it up.

My guess is it's a bridle rosette considering it's that big

One and three quarter inches is the exact US Army rosette size.

In addition, the lettering makes me believe it's Indian War era or later.
