I had to share this US Cartridge Box Plate I dug in a “hunted out” Middle TN Civil War camp. I started the year with a goal of digging a Civil War plate in 2019 and dug this on the last hunt of the year. I also dug the Richmond Gardner in the camp. Both the Confederate army and the Union army camped at the site.

WOW so awesome. These are up less and less

Outstanding find, still on my bucket list , great historic recovery!!

nice recovery, don't ya just love those hunted out camps? was it a winter camp, any signs of hut holes?
around here many camps were dug into an eastern facing hillside.

Nice save and what a way to end the year:thumbsup:

Winter of 63 camp and there are three huts at this site. We'll move on and use these huts
as a back up one day.
