Old US Navy Sterling ID Bracelet. Need help with locating owner.

Found this US Navy ID bracelet metal detecting with my Equinox 600 last week. Has on the back the mark Sterling and is engraved with the word “Mother” and with his Navy service ID #. I believe this is possible a WW2 era bracelet? I would love to be able to return this to the owner or a family member. Does anyone know how to research the service number to help locate the owner? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
