I am highly considering purchasing an etrac very soon.

It appears that I could save a few hundred $ if I buy a used one. Is there a good reason why I should buy a new machine versus a used machine?

Warranty. If a machine needs repairs, it could easily cost a few hundred to fix it.

Life is too short.
How often in life does anyone treat themselves to something bran new?
They sell bran new for only a few hundred dollars more than they sell used for.
That alone says something about any product.
and new = Warranty

Warranty is important, but just getting your hands on something nobody else has used before is also satisfying. I just took my brand new E-trac out today and had a great day. I am sure I heard all 28 frequencies and found 42 coins (clad) and 2 keys. I think this is the beginning of a long friendship with Minelab.
