Using gold mode on wet salt beach and in salt water?

If I get an 800 I expect to use it on beaches and in the ocean. I will be looking for silver rings, gold rings, small chains of gold or silver and various other jewelry.
What setting would I need to set the 800 so I could find any of the above and what depth could I expect to find small rings or light chains?

Probably one of the 2 beach modes. Depth will depend on conditions and sensitivity settings.
