All, this was found at a park between where a farmhouse once stood and a springhouse. The farmhouse was preceded by a log cabin built in 1801. The home and outbuildings were demolished between 2005 and 2007 to make way for a subdivision.

When found there was rust on the “blade” (see center of first 2 photos) — which most has since been removed. Seems heavy for its size (3 ¾” L x 9/16” W x 5/8” H), so I think there is a pewter handle on either side of the blade (photos 3 & 4). One handle was either made or worn much thinner than the other (see handle above the blade on 5th photo). My first impression is that it is a utensil handle. However, the blade is 3/8” thick on one side (see 5th photo) and ¼” thick on the other (see 6th photo). So wonder if it could be a straight razor. Finally, in the 6th photo it looks like there could be multiple blades, so could it be a pocket knife?

Any help on ID and/or age would be much appreciated.

Looks to be a single blade (rusted off) jack knife.

All, thanks for the ID. Looked the webpage you posted and saw several pocket knives - but just a few w/ pewter handles - and most of those had fancy designs. Anyways, added "pewter" to the search and saw some more - even one on TNet. Will keep looking. Thanks again!
