My wife and I decided to take a few days and spend in Chicago. I want to thank Lookn4seated for inviting me out one day to hunt with him. It was a pleasure meeting him and spending some time out hunting. I didn't do so good at the beginning of the hunt, which is when all the twist caps were found. I'm not used to hunting around that much trash. It didn't seem to bother Lookn4seated though, as he found 4 silver before I had found any.
I only managed a few wheats for the first 3 hours or so.
We moved to another area and things began to look up. The trash was considerably less and I managed 3 more wheats in about 30 minutes or so. Still, no silver.
Finally at the next area we hunted I managed to find the worn 1899 barber dime and the 1924 merc. I was beginning to look like maybe I had hunted a few times before.
Anyways, I truly enjoyed meeting Lookn4seated and I did enjoy the hunt. Chicago was great as well. I would have liked a few more days of hunting, but I don't think my wife would have liked it much.
The worn merc was from our first stop on vacation. It came from a park in Morris, Illinois. We arrived here with plenty of daylight left, so I went searching for a park. I found a park with a swimming pool that was built in the 1920's. Thought that would be as good as any to try. Good thing I had some mosquito repellant along, for there were plenty of them. Nothing I hate worse than a good hunt cut short by mosquitos.
Until next time, take care and Happy Hunting!!
