on vacation in illinois visiting my parents. I dug around the yard and came across this illinois bicycle tag dated 1913. the one pictured isnt the one i found, but identicle to it. i found lic #88766.
this is the oldest item i have found so far. wish me luch for the rest of my stay.

anyone know how i could track down who it was issued to. thanks...

I think the history of your find is interesting--as referenced below.

"The piece is made of aluminum. The maker is The Greenduck Company Chicago as shown on the back. The item was manufactured by L.F. Grammes and Sons even though the back may show the Greenduck Company, Chicago or L.F. Grammes and Sons. Allentown, PA.

Greenduck was bought by L.F.Grammes at some point in history. This fob (the one on the below referenced site) has been in the possession of the Grammes family since the items were manufactured at the turn of the 20th century. The company put away a couple of each one manufactured to use as examples of their workmanship."

You may wish to contact L.F. Frammes Co. and see if they can answer your question.
