Went back to the same woods as the other day...Got there about 1PM, and hunted till dark...Nothing all day long but cartridge cases, shotgun shells, and can lids... Then just before dark, I headed down by the creek, and hit back to back nickel signals less than 2 inches each...Dug (scraped the surface) for the first one and pulled a 1869 Shield Nickel in decent shape. Next came the 1889 V Nickel, also in great shape. The ring was found on top of the tallest hill in the area...It is Sterling, but most of the stones are missing and are glass. The bottle I just thought was neat. This area has history back to the late 1600s. It is brutal hunting, and a major workout, but persistence pays off...
