He released his record in 1989. Side a was a redo/cover of play that funky music. Ice ice baby was on side B. Play that funky music did not have the success his manager hoped for. Then a disc jockey in Georgia, Darrell Jaye, played side B instead of Side A, and ice ice baby took off.
I remember this one because I had a kid who loved the ninja turtles. Still does Lol.
The last time I saw Vanilla Ice, the Ice Man went from Ice, Ice Baby to Cash, Cash Baby on HGTV. He had a show where he was buying these multi million dollar mansions and flipping them in the Miami area. It was a pretty good show. He and his crew really did some great work in bringing back some of these abandoned mansions and properties and making them a show place once again. I enjoyed watching this show. I know I hadn't seen it in a while. I hope they bring it back.
