Has anyone here done it? I was thinking about it next month. I know its about a mile off shore and the visibility not that good. I also heard you need to be in shape although not too much of a current. I believe its in the 30' depth range. I am a newly OW diver and have only done one other ocean dive. I have done most my diving in Quarrys, Springs and Rivers, and my max depth to now is only 38'. I contacted the Florida West Scuba School, they said theres a 50% possibility of finding fossils. Any comments appreciated! Escpecially on diving conditions and the Florida West Scuba School.

Yes, Venice is a nice place to get some teeth. Read further down this forum for the sharks teeth stuff and you will see more info on it.

But in short, if you go to where the Venice airport is, just behind it will be Service Park. Lots of folks go scuba diving off the beach there. It's got outside rinse off area, free parking... Just walk down to the beach and swim out on the surface until your about equal to the end of the pier you will see to your south. The teeth will be below you in about 18' of water.

The boats to the northwest are usually the paid for divers out of the local dive shop in Venice looking for Mega teeth.

Good luck and happy hunting.
