Maybe someone can shed some light as to what this came off of. It reads "VERMONTER" BURLINGTON VT"
All I could find was a train and a literary magazine with that name. Than for looking, Snaps

It would sure help searching if you could provide the dimensions (width,height, etc.), material (leather, metal, etc.), location found, etc. It just makes searching so much easier.

"The" Vermonter, but I have no idea. Looks like brass to me. The name sounds like a Newspaper or Magazine, but that's just a guess.
