Hit a couple of places this weekend. Saturday I went to an area where they used to have rodeos back in the 50's. It was very hard to hunt lots of targets from old barns that had been torn down and pieces of the road that had been torn up. Was pretty happy with the walking liberty 1/2 -- it is my first silver half. It was only about 6 inches down and was between two other junk targets -- was pretty lucky I noticed the signal. It was completely covered in tarnish -- I had to work pretty hard on it to get it where it is now. Total for Saturday was 6 wheats and 1 silver 1/2 --
Went out for a bit today -- enough to cover about 1/2 of that old ballpark that keeps on producing the silver dimes. Once again it produced some more silver dimes -- I have gone over the same areas 3 and 4 times, but it keeps producing -- the signals are deep to say the least, which makes me really want a WOT coil to get an extra inch or two. I went originally thinking I am not going to get any more silver out of here, so I better start digging the low tones to see if I can possibly get another buffalo or a V nickel -- goes to show you no area is ever really hunted out.
Dimes:
1914 S Barber
1929 S Merc
1941 S Merc
1948 S Rosy
Wheats: 13 Total
Nickels:
1936 Buffalo
1961 Jefferson
Thanks for looking
